I was about to say no such thing but changed my mind.

I dont think you can have to many rods if you use them all. For example I have about 15 odd rods, but they all get used for something at sometime. Some less than others like my surf rod but it does come out on occasion.

20 rods sitting in the shed not being used for anything? Maybe to much. If I have a rod I have not used in forever I usually give it away here or at a AFO swap meet. There is always someone new to the sport that can benefit this way.

Umm 30+ some are old sentimental favs not used any more but wont part with /some are left over from upgrades /some are for friends to use if they don't have the right gear etc :woohoo: but a good collection of mid to high range is expanding :woohoo:

I have given a lot away to newbies that reminds (not in the newbie section ) me Gus do you want that fly rod and reel

BTW any one make free standing rod racks that hold rods with reels attached don't need to be flash just effective I've run outta room in my racks and I hate working with wood you can't weld the shit lmao

I'll take some pic's one day when i can get them all together

just a hint for ebayers gave most of the rods I bought on ebay away or never use em IMO your buying crap

same with reels :(

I've got about 6 good combo's I use regurally, and another 8 rods or so I rarely use. And about 10 broken reels

A teacher at my school has got like 400 rods and 600 reels or something like that  Mostly Alvies for the reels. He's a collector haha. He doesn't use those ones though :D

i had 7 but after the boat show i have 17 ,the mrs has 2 the kids have 9.

but in that there is mainly upgrading from mega cheap stuff and old stuff.prob got more about in the shed and just can't find them .lol

when i finish sort it all out what i want to end up with .is a bass, bream rod.a flathead, large fish rod for lures in graphite , my 2 surf rods and 2 glass bait rods same idea as the graphite rods.so 6 or 7 rods will cover what i want i hope .lol

then if needed overcaster or baitcaster or deeps sea etc will just used my dads as not worth buying since i don't fish that kind of stuff much.

I have 17 rods, some crapp ones from before I was interestd in fishing. More recent purchases include 3 unused baitcaster ones,a few SP ones, a few surf ones then general ones for the rest.I don't use them all but you just never know when you may need them. ;)

I have nine and I am not even trying.

3 good ones

1 diawa beach and rock

2 cheapo spin stick (ugly stick and an eclipse)

2 cheaper 8 kg shimaos

1 luderick rod

Trouble is I can only afford 1 good reel atm  , so I rotate 1 good reel and a 50 dollar phluger between the 3 good rods.

I have also caught some whopper threadies on the cheaper 50 dollar 8 kg shimano rods.

Can you have too many?? yeah I think you can. I think 5 or more of the same type of rod (finesse bream spin, beach etc) then yes. Especially if you can't realistically see any of the rods being used in the next 3-4 years.

I have 9 rods. 4 of them being light bream types but they all get used. 1 is left at work for a lunch time fish, 2 are for any of my outings when fishing plastics and hardbodies, another is a cheapy for friends to use.

2 surf rods that I'm still yet to use, but I'm sure their time will come :)

I have about 30 at last count. Most are for offshore and pelagic work but don't get used at the moment as I don't have a big enough boat. Might get a run on our trip to fraser in june though.

I have 4 lighter estuary/dam sticks that come with me all the time. I would like a few more but it is really hard convincing the Mrs I need 5 identical rods.....

I have about 12 and about 8 reels. They all get used for different things. However I always end up taking my two favourites and one other with me when I go. it saves re rigging teh same rod for different things. i find i take one set up for Bream and whiting, one set up for flatty and then generally one for lure fishing.
