Does anyone know anything about Tingalpa Reservoir? It's behind Mt Cotton Road.

Is there fish and boat access?

Are there fish in it?

Yes. The resvoir is chockers with Bass, Tilapia and Tandanus Catfish.

Can you fish it?

No. In there wisdom the Redland Shire council has banned any fishing. Water craft of any type are not allowed on the dam. And fishing from the bank is prohibited.

Every winter they have to hire guys in canes to remove the tilapia by the tonne that die from the cold. But every year they keep breeding.

I remember something going around a while ago about a petition to open it to electric or paddle craft. Similar rules to say Baroon, with limited numbers allowed. But its not a Givt matter. Its local council. So if one wanted to do something, it would have to be through the. Im sure however a few letters would have been written.

Very very frustrating , five minutes from where I live and I catch lots of fish below the wall and in Tinny creek just above the dam around Sheldon, but Redlands shire council are letting a potential fishing heaven go to waste imagine the population of toga around the vast area of lily pads surrounding the edge, sigh one day maybe who knows?

Can't you just sneak in there at night or early morning when no one is around:) i driven past there a few times while working and it looks like a great place to fish. Is there a fine if they catch you fishing there?
