queensland Boggy Ck 26/4/09 - the ones that got away

Today kreel & I decided to chase the boggy creek monsters we've been reading about. I had two good flatties and dropped them both First was around 60cm but when I got it boatside it went berserk and snapped my 8lb leader, taking my lure with it. Second was between 40-50cm and after dropping the first, I was reluctant to lift it out of the water. Waited for kreel to come over but must've given it too much slack and it got away.

Lessons learnt:

1. use heavier leader

2. buy a net

3. get the fish into the kayak then worry about what to do with it!

Lure of choice was a Manns stretch 5+.

There must be alot of Flatties cruisy around boggy with lures in their mouth these days

yeah i use 15 lbs flourocarbon up there, you definately need a net, rob takes 2 :laugh:

thats right and each has a float spliced to it. not loosin any more!
