ahh ok .. well you guys need to share the info i've given as this is the 5th or so post on the whitsundays and the answers to your questions are in all of them.

so here's my choice once again.

river2sea bubblepops from the smallest to around 88-90mm and the ecogear px's work great. in fact they work so nice that we didnt try any others

hope it works out

mate i made my own gt popper and its a nomad cross dumbell that is weighted at the rear and weight tested to about 50kgs and its strong as. you could try halco rooster pops, river2 sea dumbell , nomads which are like 49.95 with no hardware all in the big models will work!!! and here are some pics - and before anyone says, yes we're totally aware that the queenfish is being held incorrectly however she did put up a monster revival and swam away to smash crap another day !

great queenie mate, did u measure it? where did u catch it and what were u using?

queenie came from the hot water outlet behind the gladstone power station on the drive up. we were driving past very early in the morn and took a detour, it was 1 degree when i took that pic and about 6:30am. there were queenies, piles of GT's and about a trillion eagle rays smashing up bait. and thats how we left it to continue driving

red and white poppers of about 100mm thrown from the boat hard up into the rocks anywhere will chance you at a decent coral trout, nothing to it, throw poppers at rocks, my old man lives there and rings me at least once a fortnight yelling about 60 + 70 cm trout

monday he got a 60cm trout off the wall to the harbour at hammo...., he just goes anywhere, best advice is dont spend all you time trying to find spots youve been told about, go to the general area youve been told about and go with what looks and feel right, you know what i mean
