longlining?

A way of pro fishing involves kilometres of baited lines sent out on huge winches, one of the causes of the huge decline in tuna numbers, I thought it was banned but obviously not

Also responsible for huge losses of Albatrosses.

Not only tuna, but a few boats out from mooloolabah still chase broadbill swoardfish,

Yeah its also the reason Striped Marlin are in serious decline.

Feral: I saw a doco in the lonfliners off the coast of South Africa, they used to heave aboard several Albatross each session. Not to nice.

Oh well, humans will learn one day. When there is nothing left to save!

turtles and sharks and rays too. manta rays seem to get foul hooked on them much more than their fair share.

I was reef fishing off Vanuatu about a month ago and the locals were saying that the French colonists long line there. We could see them on the Horizon. Such a shame cause that country is beautiful and would be terrible if it gets fished out.
