well guys i will be a non fisher for about 2-3 weeks due to a cancer cut out of my arm,the size was bigger then they thought a bit smaller then the size of my hand has anybody else had anything like this happen to you, so i will love reading all the reports for a while and good fishing guys.brad

igot some cut out a few weeks back and today was to get the rest if there is any more will know in a few days

Sorry to hear Brad, I get my sun spots done on my arms every year or so. The blokes that are going to have probs later on are the ones wearing jockey caps in the middle of summer, I can see a lot of cancer on ears in a few years

just had one removed from my ear last week and about 12 spots of arms hands face not good but us old fellas we didnt have the sun protection back in the 60ts as you young guys have now yer so cover up

Wow Brad, as someone that has had many basal cell carcinomas cut out over the years (hence my avatar)I am sympathetic, but do you have a small hand or a big arm? That is a hell of a big tumour to cut out. Do you know what it is yet? I have to go back to the dermo some time as I kow I have heaps more work to be done, but I don't want it to interfer with fishing or other outdoors stuff. Good luck.

mate the insision was that size the tumor was the size of a fifty cent peice and they have to cut 1.2cm all round the reason for the large cut is to make the skin to form better with the stiches ,and thanks rob for your offer.brad

hope all comes back ok. I keep reading up of people getting cancers and stuff recently.. Think I'm gonna have to get me a wide brimmed hat...

I have recently discovered fishing in the Buff :woohoo: I find them better then anything else I have tried (wide brim hats, araphats etc). I usually put my sunnies on then the buff then a cap. They are also pretty good for keeping your head cool in summer, just soak 'em in fresh water.

just for the record the spot they found was very small to the eye but it was what was under the skin and i have had this spot for a very long time so it might pay to get a skin check once a year before anything gets too bad,slip,slop,slap,fish.brad

Checked out that "Buff" link, looks different. I haven't seen anyone wearing one yet! I do find my gigantic big staw hat acts like a sail at times and gets annoying, but I do like the shade it provides my face and neck.
