need help with a good outfit

im looking to find a good soft plastics outfit whats a good outfit round the 300 dollar mark

mate have a look at motackle..they are selling Daiwa Exceller 2000 model reels for $89 :ohmy: (normally rrp around the $150) match it with nice rod, braid and have change in pocket for plastics, jigs etc

I was thinking along the same lines as Silver Rex.

Have a look at the Daiwa Exceler, Shimano Elf, Rovex Aureus and the Penn Applause reels. All are great reels from what I have heard, the Aureus reels have a smooth drag, duel spools and a nice feel to them.

Match any of these reels to a quality rod like the Wilson LCS's and you will have a quality combo which will serve you well.

For line, have a look at Sunline PE, Stren, Fins or Rovex, all are great.

i have an exceler 2000 and its a great reel. great drag. but i use mine specifically for trout and fresh water. as long as u rinse it well after each use u should be fine. remember when rinsing out the reel tighten the drag all the way down. shake off excess water. then loosen drag. never ever keep the drag buttoned down it will ruin the stack. good luck finding a setup bro.

mate have a look at a daiwa heartland 2000 or shimano stradic 2500 with a berkley dropshot or mexican raider rod, that will be a decent setup for the moneys worth but will probs end up around 350 or something.

mate personally i like to have a tighter, stiffer blank for plastics...gives it better connection with the plastic..just keep that in mind

maccatuna if you have an ebay account i can put you onto a seller that has some pretty hot reels for much cheaper than they are here (from japan).

Then you just have toget a rod from here, will allow you extra budget for good braid, or extra budget for a better rod..whatever you like...
