while i sit here thinkin about not being able to go for a fish this weekend, reading some threads on lures and whatnot, thought. about when the supplers make those dvd's we sometimes watch! where are they located?? yep up yonder! we all sit back and think, you rotten bastards as we watch on with drool. is it maybe worth doing a trip up there once a year??? to some outback cokk and bull place to experience this type of fishing. personally i think it would be worth a expidition up that way some time. some mate and i were supposed to be going to bathurst bay at the end of july, but don't want to take their 4b with small 4 mtr tinnie in tow. and respect that. as it was only realy bought to tow their bigger boat up to hervey bay and 1770 a few times a year, well a lot of times a year,as the 4.2 turbo diesel was struggling. it's a v8 cruiser. and i have a similar problem, just don't think the falcon would tow the boat to some of those places you need to get to. and buying a cruiser doesn't sit to well with me either. this is where me mate pat comes into it. i can borrow his cruiser anytime, to go anywhere i / or we choose. a trip like this needs a lot of planning and back up spares, my ol mates sometimes plan and prepare for trips like this 12/18 months in advance, just a cost effective way of doing it. just wondering if anybody out there has ever thought of the once in a life time adventure, to boldly go, wher not many have been before??? i mean really thought about it!

places i'm talkin about are self sufficent. and off the beatn track. thats why the fishin is so good. even launchin the boat, 2 guys with powerful guns keeping watch while 1 was launching the tinnie, it's these little things that ppl don't think of. that's why they take so long to plan. but my mad mates do it quite a bit and know now what to do and what not to do. and the fishin is good.

escot barramundi lodge near burketown is dinamite fishing with the largest property in the gulf region. camping or cabins and the camp site is walking distance to the causeway over the river where the last tidal strecth meets large freshwater strecthes of river. we would walk down with the cast nets and throw in to the small holes on the tidal side at low tide and get enough shrimp with 2 throws for fishing and eating for the day. these shrimp were huge with feelers as long as my arms and these holes would fill up again at high tide. the barra found them irresistable under floats or the bottom. would love to venture back up there again but find it hard to get fellas with enough time off from work
