Baitcaster clearing a backlash.

Found this on Fishntales website.If it only works some of the time it still should save a lot of swearing. I normally do not use baitcasters because of back lash problems so I will have to give it a go. Previously I just used to pull exposed loops backwards to undo a backlash and if that didnt work used to use a knife.

i too pull the loops backwards etc and have only failed once but it was an expensive failure lol

i use this trick all the time. but warning it does not work well with braid.

Thanks for sharing Ray. My speakers have crapped out though (probably just the fuse, Z-5500s are renowned for it!) but I won't bother checking it until the weekend (it is a cylindrical fuse so I won't have a spare and I have to move some furniture to get to it!)

I think I get the drift though: pull until it get stuck, wind in a few inches and try again?

and when you're winding, have your thumb pushing down tight on the spool

you have to button down the drag. dont forget. works really well on mono an copolymer. on braid it actually didnt do anything for it.
