Lure Colours / Day vs Night

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Does anyone change their colour preference of lures based on day or night? I've done bugger all night lure fishing is all so Im quite curious. Does it make a difference or do you just use what you would during day light hours?

Do you want to go brighter to go more noticable or stick with darker, earthier colours to come across more natural?

Appreciate your opinions.

ark lures work better a night more natural

you probably dont wont one of those lures that glow in the dark because most fish will be a darker colour at night so you lure will look stupid

i know in dark/brackish water you should use some brighter lures to attrackt the fish but at night the fish for some reason dont fall for it.

hey chris,

if the sun isnt up yet, or if the sun has just gone down and there is very little light, i would recommend a dark or black coloured lure that works on, or close to the surface. i would recommend the atomic shad or crank in the shallow(which is effectivly a surface lure when slow rolled)in the hot tail colour. it is solid black with a bright orange tail. in low light situations im guessing it casts the perfect silhouette

cheers dave

I dont know a thing about using lures at night but I have been thinking of using poppers at night lately. I would imagine they would grab the fish attention with the splashing about on the surface of the water. Just a idea.

Would they work at night?

I cant think of a reason why they wouldn't.

Cheers

Brent
