well guys i headed down to the seaway today with brit the pom went out to the southern wall and got stuck into the bonito i think we got about 12-14 not real sure,and they are a great fight on the light gear go hard, no tailor aroundheaded back in and stopped of just past wave break and tryed the sp got a litttle flaty and droped it at the boat after a few flicks we called it a day was getting real busy down there this was a first time down that way in a boat and it was great i had a great time so thanks alot brit the pom for offering up a spot for me next time you can come up to brissy and we will hit up the bay islands,also noname we have some bonito for bait.brad

mate i got them on a 4 inch cream slug with reflexion on both sides i will look fore the packet it came in for more detail.

Congratulations to Brad, he got 90% of the bonito.Shame we did'nt get anything of any size on the sp's we gave a good go.

It was a pleasure spending the morning with Brad,great conversation,great company and a great bloke.

Easily went 35 - 40 !

We never bled any had them for bait only,be nice to try next time.

Sounds like you had great session lads well done. I prefer to fish the seaway mid week or if I can,t Saturday morning early is ok not to much traffic then.

No problem Angus anytime,I have always considered inviting people to fish,but i did'nt want people to think because you have a boat you know where to catch fish and you know all the best spots and you will bag out in no time at all.But the truth is far from that and i won't promise any of these.That aside Angus anytime.

Ps If we caught our bag every time would'nt it get boring.

Absolutely mate. I don't have a boat so I agree with what you said earlier in the message also, but this is a great point. If fishing and bagging out was as easy as that, it'd become a chore, like mowing the lawns.

Although, mowing the lawns doesn't happen every 2nd weekend like it should... so maybe a bad example. :laugh:

Bonito go really well as sashimi. A lot whiter than most tunas species so they are pretty good cooked as well.
