bass in the nerang river

went to go fishing at nerang on saturday and got talkin to the staff and was suprized to here that good numbers of bass were being caught in the upper reaches of the nerang river from the station st bridge to the weedons crossing weir and to top it off a 30+cm jack was enticed to take a gulp minnow all the pictures i was shown were taken earlyer on in the week

PLEASE. Please do not attempt to even target bass as by-catch. Substantial numbers of bass have escaped over the walls of most dams in SEQ over the last year and these bass are now spawning and will if left alone provide the nucleus of a substantial breeding population and restoration of a near defunct fishery that we will reap the benefits of for years to come.

well yeh, i understand the sentiment..... but you're in the nerang river tossing an SX40 around for, well...basically anything will take one of those.... if a bass is hungry for it, whatcha gunna do ?

Maybe everyone should stop fishing in the nernag river because some bass came over the wall......??wtf..
