queensland long Brissy river session today (14/9/09)

Had today off as we worked on Ekka wednesday, so off my old man and I went for a flick on the river. we launced at fishermens island at 7am as usual and headed straight to 100. We flicked transams in blue, light green, dark green spotted and white/red for 2ish hours with not even a hit . so we spent the next 6 to 7 hours going back and forth hitting all my top spots including going back to 100 between moves to only get 1 pike on the dark green spotted transam and 1 decent strike but no hook up . Had a quick fick at the end of the extension and caught a small finger mark. 4pm had arrived and home for a coldy was on our minds, but as always 1 more cast ! so into boggy for a drift and the best session of the day was had. We caught a load off flatties at least 20, we kept 3, I caught a nice 43cm cod on a 4 inch swimming mullet in camo, also caught a flounder on the same plastic .

We were on the water for 11 hours all up!

Its amazing how tired you get after a long day enjoying yourself.Nice fish display technique photos Shows the fish,rod and reel and person and the fish being supported as well.

got to be happy with boggy turning it on for u .

i would like a session just like that.sounds like a great 2 hrs at the end.

i would call the rest of the day exploring and the end the fishing session.

good amount of fish and some variety.

dont feel bad about the pipeline not producing, it is by no means a sure thing. with such a huge area and no real specific spots for the fish to congregate it is often just a game of moving and casting until you hit the right place- a game of patience

Easy does it tommo I usually get a few . I'm pretty much right into the SP's now :cheer:

I know its a mosses perch, I just call it a finger mark unfortunatly I've never gotten on to a 'legal' one .

Hopefully tomorows session will be productive!

Top effort mate. a bit of a mixed spiecies of fish makes it an interesting session.

seen quite a few sole/flounder from that area now, supposed to be good tucker too.

Yikes mate certainly must have been a big session.. Has taken you three weeks into the future 14th September 2009? Can you tell me which teams make the NRL grand final? Good work for sticking the session out so long. Good things come to those who wait.

Not a bad way to spend a day Keen, nice looking fish there, and dates......who cares? I do that all the time! ha ha
