so we went down in the canoe since it was loaded .

got there about 1 pm .

fun fishing 3 in the canoe 2 rods each .

there where a few tangles .

so standard deal a bait rod and lure rod each

bait pillies ,prawns .

bro had some **** pillies .

i got some from the fish factory last night .

quite good ,lot better than servo crap.

so as the tide was still quite high.

we trawled sp's from the ramp up to the tip ,along the mud /sand flats.

then drifted about there for a few hrs .sat about in the deeper water .

then trawled back to the ramp.

there where pauses in the trolling when some 1 got a hit or looked like a spot to stop and flick the sp's.

the red it the way out .high tide

black circle is area we hung about

blue is the are we came back.low tide

we where losing heaps of bait and getting hits on the sp's but no hook up's.

i think they where just a bit shy today .

a few boats about and moving about a bit.

so bro caught a good squire in the deep water .

that it for today . squire_clint.jpg

the soft plastics used.

lures_23_8.jpg

the pink/orange colour 1 with the hook and treble.got it's ass bit off big time .

must of been some hungry fish in the deeper water.

that plastic started pink used it all day at the flathead social .it had turned a little orange .used it for the session with ryan , but i put tuna oil on it .it got a squire .

then used it boggy session sunday ,tuna oil on it again .

so 3 session out of it i should be happy i guess .

but i still wish it had got bitten off a bit further up where the hooks are .

oh also used some nuclear chooks ,usual bite marks from toads and rat bream .

yeah .bro been to boggy 2 time landbased and 2 time canoe with me .

so its only new to us ,so we are still sussing it out.

the sounder helped a lot this time to see the water depth.

thinking of targeting it different now .

incoming and high tide sit near the mouth.deep water ,for squire bream etc .

then as the tide gets lower and runs out go back up river sitting in the channel and flick at the flats for flatty.

its sort a combo of the first trip there and this trip.

both trips have produced fish just not in great numbers ,so some fine tuning and we still got to get using sp's right and we should be good .

You guys looked pretty cramped in that canoe! my mate and I where in my white centre console tinny all day in and around boggy and got about 10 undersized flatties by about 2 cm  . I got absolutly dusted, big cod I imagin at about 3ish, everyone in the river would've heard me, got it to about 3 to 4m's from the boat before he spat it!

bugger on the cod

u guys where near the beacon/marker i think ?

to the left of us .on the point in boggy mouth .

yeah we where cramped usually only 2 people in it but .

the plan was for me and the boy to go out them my bro rang and wanted to go since i bailed on Saturday.

when we where at the ramp unloading /and packing up we had a few flicks of sp .

my bro got bricked by something big .it was taking drag then bricked him after about 5 min it was over with the sp spat and all hacked up.

at low tide the is 4 to 5 meters there a deep hole it is .

davo, might be a little difficult in the canoe but try further south and to other parts of boggy if you can. i've nailed some larger flatties around there and there's some fishy looking mangroves all around. managed to boat a 54cm one on sunday, we saw you guys around the black circle area as we were drifting around

What's the likelihood of catchin something while landbased to the left of your black circle there?

on that side there is sort of a channel then a sand bank then the channel.

so from the bank u would be able to cast onto the sand bank and bring back across the drop off /little channel .

should be good to get flatty.

purple would roughly be the little channel.

yellow is the sandbank.

this is roughly form my sounder reading i remember and where i think i we where .

very rough by the land marks .

oh not a definite thing either ,just my hunch /opinion .:)

cheers eug

yeah it gets a bit choppy and wet in the canoe .

i wanted to go around the point and in that other little bay and along to the end .

could do it with just me and the boy .

but hopefully by the weekend will finished the upgrades to the tinny and we will be going further then.
