fishing kayak

hey guys,

this is a question for everyone out there with a kayak, canoe, inflatable boat they use for fishing.

i am looking at buying 1 of the above to use for fishing the various rivers around brisbane. looking at an inflatable 1 or 2 man boat or even an inflatable kayak. just wondering who has used any of these for fishing? wud an inflatable boat be safe to fish from (punctures etc). the particular boat i am looking at has rod holders and looks like a decent set-up.

also is it possible to get a small motor for such a boat?

i would prefer ahard bodied boat myself especially if you fish from it or smoke.canoes are incredibly cheap second hand and generally have lots of space for cargo

Inflatable boats - The more solid ones come with transoms for petrol motors, you can get petrol motors from around the 2hp mark. They dont generally have the room for an electric (battery storage) and would be a real pig to steer with an electric on.

Dunno about inflatable kayaks etc. The blokes here with kayaks - when I have seen them fishing from them - seem to spend an awful lot of time standing on the banks fishing, so not real sure how good they really are to fish from!
