what is this fish?

pretty sure the purpler spotted gudgeons go about 15cm maybe a bit more for an old female, not really targetable on a line, used to find heaps of them through kedron brook but i think guppies and tilapia are pushing them out.

Mate a bit off topic but most freshwater Gudgeons are pretty small.

However I do believe Sleepy Cod are actually a species of gedgeon.

Biggest one I have seen took a PX45 in Lake Currimundi. Was some salt/brackish water variety but cant remember much more about it.

Ophiocara porocephala. Spangled gudgeon grows to 35cm south of its usual range.
