queensland Kangaroo Pt Cod

Just went fishing for afew hours at Kangaroo Pt for fun and within 5mins of casting caught a nice barely legal size cod. As you can see in the photo, thats todays papers and the cod had taken up most of the papers length. 35.5cm was the estury cod and thats the only one we caught during the 2 hours of fishing beside from the pike eel that was 1.5mtrs in length.

Nice catch, these things are getting to be a common catch in the river which is brilliant!

Great catch. It is funny how things change that stretch of the river used to be known for large jew and cod were never mentioned.

sounds like u had a good fishing session mate... i fished kangaroo point a couple of weeks back using mullet strips for bait and only managed to catch a 45cm forktail cattie and my mate caught another at 52cm. pulled my cattie in on a telescopic rod, which struggles to bring whiting in half the time

also had another big run on the same rod using a large piece of mullet but it failed to hook-up. guessing it was another cattie. despite their low status these fish put up a good fight on light line.
