Electrofishing does not work in salt water due too conductivity more likely it was handled and photographed to death.

Hmm wonder why it doesn't work in salt since salt water conducts electricity better than fresh?

Maybe the area is far too large to deliver a decent charge.

EC (Electrical conductivity) is a standard measurement for salt content in water.

The higher the EC the more salt there is, EC for sea water is about 40,000 microSiemens per centimetre (µS/cm).

cheers

V=IR / voltage = current x resistance

freshwater has high resistance as it doesn't conduct electricity as well as saltwater, so higher voltage can be achieved in freshwater with the same input

whereas saltwater has little resistance so requires a much greater input to get the same voltage
