queensland Rainbow Beach

Hi All,

I will be up at Rainbow Beach for the next week and was wondering whether there are any good spots worth trying.I have no doubt the Mrs and kids and mates family will try and dictate when I will go fishing but am keen to have a crack whether it be surf fishing or head to Tin Can like Fergie and try my luck up there.Was going to look at a charter but they are predicting 25knot winds by Tuesday so that knocks that idea on the head.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

i have never fished the place much, but last time i was there, got a heap of undersized mackeral off the beach at dawn as they were choppin up the bait schools..did see much larger macks jumping out of the water further out..so go for a walk along the beach at dawn with a few metal lures...and a beer of course!

just north of the freshwater creek camp ground entrence there are a line of boulders in a gutter its allways worth a try

Hulk, you might be able to get some good bits from that report.

Those eggs weren't as easy to catch as the pics shows though ROFL

You just didn't have the right gear; there is a whole range of specialist tackle for Egg Game! :laugh:
