Hey everyone.

Just a quick heads up about the new "Groups" on AFO.

Webby has been working hard as usual to make sure the website is a interactive and user friendly as possible. The latest addition of groups is just another step towards this goal.

A few exisiting clubs and groups have been added so far so if you are a member of any of these please feel free to join.

Further more if you are a member of any other groups please feel free to add them and invite relevant people. These groups will be a great place to post info and invites to a select body of people such as meeting times, social days etc.

To find and view the groups, you can go to the front page and on the right hand bar you will see "My Groups". Once you click this it will show you what groups aready exist. There is also an option once you click "My Groups" to view "All Groups".

Cheers.

Had a couple of PM's asking what sort of groups can be made...

Pretty much anything!

These can be as broad as "Bream Fishing" to just a little group of like 6 mates who fish together.

These groups also do not need to be fishing related.

They can be social or whatever you like.

Yes you can make Open groups where anyone can join, but you can also make a Private group whereby the Group's admin can accept or reject applications to join. This is great for Fishing Clubs or the like you want only their members to be part of a group and use it for discussions and shortly photos and videos.

^^ yeah I think admin has to approve the group before it can be created and open. I guess it stops people creating unsavory/inappropriate groups.

Yes, new groups once created are then queued for moderation by the Admin team who check it is appropriate - generally inline with our site Terms and Conditions (eg not racist, offensive, pornographic etc) and then approve it if it is.
