With the kilcoy Fishing clubs monthly comp on tomorrow and my not being able to catch a fish to weigh in so far this year I thought that I would do a bit of exploring.

loaded up the boat last night and put 80 odd shrimp in the tank with aqn air punp on them.

Went out 4.30 this morning and everything very quiet - air pump died through night 80 dead shrimp - Bugger.

Met up with dino and motored off and pulled up next to likely looking lily pos and around second cast I am on.

Had one more hit that i dropped and that was it for the day.

Dino also had one hit and caught a live mussel trolling.

Poked up a lovely lily lined creek that looked really fishy but we couldnt even attract a fly much less a fish.

Nice and relaxing and lovely scenery.

Thats the top end of Somerset Dam Des. Kilcoy Fishing Club has an access lease near Villeneuve.

was still a nice morning despite the lack of fish, my lure must have passed over the mussel and it clamed shut, I had to get the pliers to get my lure back.

They're a real personality fish hey....and cranky suckers too lol

Reckon they look better than most other natives in a tank too.

can't believe that such fishy looking water can be so hard to crack a fish or two!

very frustrating I'm sure.

I am duty officer next weekend so will be there sat and sunday mornings will fish dependant on weather.
