Does anyone use or have some knowledge of Fenwick HMG Spinning rods (2 piece)?

My brother in-law recommended it so Im looking to get one in a medium-light setup with a daiwa exceller 2500 reel, think its a great setup for under $300? Or is there better?

ive had 3 hmg's all casting. really light and strong rods.
