Perfect Yak weather

Well the tides and the weather finally lined up for a decent shot at a bit of yaking on the Caboolture river.

Launched at 5:30am, after a snooze in (getting old), off the water by 9am. I managed to do about 10k all up for a nice little bit of exercise. Got to seriously start building the paddle fitness for Monduran in 3 weeks!

Got a couple, sent em home to grow up a bit! (Must remember to take a big handline to toss out a live pike under a float behind the yak next trip!)

Today was definatly a top morning for a yak session, but I opted for the boat as my mate tagged along.

Wow 10km. I only managed 7 this morning and am really feeling it. Only one thing for it, get out and do it again soon.

Was nearly tempted to head to the Caboolture River but decided to hit the more familiar Sth Pine. Maybe next time.

Bigtez, I was lined up for the south pine, but Mrs wanted me home by 9:30, so I could not afford the half hour each way traveling, would have used up to much paddle time!(Particularly after sleeping in!)

You went right up where I was thinking of going to! Lovely river isn't it!

Certaimly is. Up around the 2 bridges there was plenty of fish life too. Lots of bait movement and I managed a couple of small chopper tailor. Further down towards the ramp was still pretty dirty from the last lot of rain we had earlier in the week. Next time i will be taking the little yak and go up a bit further. I wasn't sure if I would be able to turn around if i went much further in the 160, so i headed back.
