Carp in Minnippi Parklands

I am thinking of taking the kids down to the Minnippi Parklands to teach them some lure fishing and help get rid of some Carp.

Anyone have any suggestions about the best lures (hard or soft) to use with Carp?

Are you certain they are carp? To the best of my recollection the noxious fish workshop didnt mention them being there.Heaps of tilapia,eels and mullet.

Where is the logic in that? You would think that they would want ot get rid of them...

they arent carp in the lake that says no fishing with the ducks and the island in the middle

i go fishing there all the time and have only caught turtles,eels, tillapia, and hundreds of big (biggest i seen there but dropped at my feet because i didnt get net quick enough was about 70-80cm)

if you do go fishing there make sure you do catch and release because i dont think the mullet are breeding in there and also there is alot of bacteria and stuff in the mullet so you cant eat them
