You need to be an ABT member. Get a bit of gear with the membership (DVD, mag, catalogues and hat) as well as discounts at some tackleshops.

I'll be there Sunday, and I think WayneD has indicated he is also going(don't know which day tho).

Dan, it costs $50 to join ABT and you get about $30 of stuff in the mail and a membership card. And discount at selected tackle stores.

Its a kayak comp, and only around Budds Beach, so you'll be right Shannon.

Only 3 competitors got the full bag today and the majority of the field scored donuts.

Are these kayak comps lure only ? no bait ?

yep, artificial lure and fly only. $50 to join ABT and $50 to compete per day. You can rock up and pay between 5-6am, and have a min 25l livewell and pfd type 1 on. No trolling.

Haven't fished down there before so I will be wingin it. Probably just head for the canals.

Its the live well bit that kills it for most Yakers, not exactly standard equipment, carting an extra 25 kilo's is not conducive to easy paddling either.

Good luck to those fishing, I'd enter just for the social side - except for the live tank!

Well, there were heaps of undersize fish and I caught 3 at 22.5cm so had nothing for the weigh in and I don't think anyone on day 2 caught a full bag. Very tough fishing.

damn... so it wasnt just us the other weekend where we couldn't catch bream..
