Raking for crabs

Just wondering if there is anywhere in the brisbane/gold coast area that people know of and wiling to give up location for raking for sandies?

just watched them doing it on tv and thought it looked quite fun.

They taste great aswell.. I dont drive so I never been there but I hear around wellington point is a hot spot

Never heard of it. Want to be a long rake, usually in a few metres of water!

not sure if raking for crabs in Qld is legal? i seen the show you are talking about but that was SA ! i am not sure because you can not go for mud crabs hooking them out of holes. see on the show they managed 68 i think in a small session , and the bag limits are 40 per person or 120 per boat in SA..

Yeah I've got mates that used to do it in sa. Not sure how legal it is here though.. Anyone know??

For my lack of understanding would someone describe what is invloved in the the art of raking crabs.

they wade the shallow sand flats less then 1 foot of water and look for black sand spots, then they tap the corner of the rake in the black bit of sand and a blue swimmer comes out then the just flick the crab onto the rake then drop it in a floating container. easier to understand if you see it in action!

From my point of view,what a waste of fishing time,when you could have a few pots out and a line in the water,working the flats for whiting or flatties, but each to their own
