Caboolture River 14/11

Recommended Posts

Had some spare time to kill Saturady arvo so rolled the good ship "GiMaLu" out and headed up to the Caboolture river for the afternoon. Tide still had a little runout to go to low so headed out to the first set of markers into the river from D Bay. Wind and tide just about even so all was good for a while. Two small flatties (35 & 30cm) started the account.

As tide turned and gained strength we then drifted the edge of the channel drop off for one eagle ray and one nice 46cm flattie.

Time against us and tide increasing to fast for drift so motored up stream to check a spot which has good structure and depth. Success here with a wopper ray (good fun :)) The bream started on the chew with some fingermark thrown in for good measure. Most borderline at around the 24 - 25 cm mark.

Great afternoon lovely weather. Might try again soon when tides are again similar.
