Dazzamcgee
Yeah Ive bagged afew Bass on fly... Best part was I tied my own flies... Pretty ezy really I just used some scrap black foam cut into a diamond shape clue to a 1/0 hook then tied it down with black cotton to look like a beetle and then I added some black legs from the head of an old broom. EZY... Worked well too.... />http://www.australianfishing.com.au/forum/41-flies/135680-fly-fishing#135680
Mr FeLiX
I've never bagged one, but i've tied a few flies for mates that were succesfull. The forementioned beetle pattern is a definate winner, and floats well in slightly quicker water which is a bonus in that situation. The most succesful would of been a small brown and white shrimp immatation with a dash of pink under the haed and on the tail, also had 2 strands of tinsel for a bit of flash. Haven't tied one of them in a while but

tomca
Yep, Maroon Dam is a great spot to get Bass on surface flies. My PB bass on fly so far. 9wt rod with floating line and a 4lb tapered tippet. 4lb is a bit light when casting over weed beds, but adds to the adventure IMO
