prawn fishing

hi i was wondering some good spots to chuck a cast net at looking mainly for prawns i don't have a boat so it would be from the shore.

i would also like to know where and how and when lol keechie and i have had bugger all luck. :S

this time of year the prawns are a bit scarce unless we get a bit of rain otherwise easter on if your after a fedd of prawns when the banana prawns run but best chance off the end of boat ramps at night or any little drain mouth going into a creek or river best bet for a feed of them wait for easter and to name one place go down to jacobs well jetty for land based netting

i have a boat and we only really want them for bait. does a boat help?

I've nailed a few prawns at night down at bulimba boat ramp. They seem to frequent there a bit after hours

down at jacobs what do people walk along that "low" jetty with an attracting light and thrw the net off there? or literally around the boat ramp?

Colmslie is on Col Gardner Drive.

Not sure about Bulimba, but if you head down Oxford street to the end and hang a right you'll stumble across it.
