queensland 11yo Standup 37kg SEQ Blue

Junior angler Dan Brooks got this 2.7m short length, estimated 200kg blue marlin Saturday. Dan would be 40kg ringing wet. 1 hour 35 minutes on stand up 37kg tackle. Tiagra 80W, T-Curve 80 rod and Bahama Mama lure on 34' Black Watch Ymer at the Waddy Canyons off Fraser Island.

And crossing the 0.5mile crossing on Breaksea at low tide, Game On following.

Thanks to Graeme for the photos. Ian and Scotty should have more soon. Keneka a 40' White Cap won with 7 tagged blue marlin, 4 Friday and 3 Saturday and had two that popped rubber bands Sunday but didn't connect. 7/10 is not bad in anyone's books. In Deep were 2 from 10 over the last day and a half after fishing light tackle the first day.

without breakin a sweat.

With harnesses at the standard they are now it has taken all the brute force out of the game, if you go into a figth with one of these with just a gimble to save ya nuts you will come out the other end a man, that is for sure rofl.

Come on, guys, let's admit it. Everyone on this site is jealous of lil Dan no matter what sort of harness he was using. Great fishing story for him - pity it is the end of the school year. If that was me, everyone I know would hear about it for the next 10 years. Go Dan!!

Your a champ in my books. You used 37kg tackle and any mistake would have shown. Keep up the fishin and remember the quicker you land the better the recovery for the fish.
