justham
Took The kayak out for it first real trip this morning. Put it in at Whyte island ramp at 6am and went for a peddle around the Flats on the going out tide. Was getting too shallow so I went into the river. Fished along the mangroves around to the rock wall of the coal stockpiles. Managed 2 legal flathead and a few undersize. The gulps were the food of choice today and have been having a reasonable rum on them of late. Still getting used to fishing in the kayak but enjoying it immensely! Just need to get a sounder now! First legal went 38cm and the second was 45cm
tomca
Nice work. Dusky flathead have a min. size of 40cm, and bar tails 30cm. In case you don't know, I'd hate to see fisheries confiscate your yak. I'm planning to go yakking Saturday, welcome to come along, just not certain where to yet.
