queensland Saturday 28th Nov kayaking

Forecast on Seabreeze is for 15-20 knot northerleys so that limits pleasant kayaking somewhat. I have a leave pass to fish Saturday, so want to do a sunrise mission somewhere.

So far my shortlist is Horizon Shores, Raby Bay and Hinze Dam. I'll decide Friday which will be best with the revised forecast.

Anyone is welcome to tag along, and have room in the truck if you want to carpool.

My yak and I will be there. I reckon Raby bay would be the go. There is also a storm forecast for saturday, so there could be a jack on the cards

forget raby bay - head down to the 19th ave lagoon at palm beach...

If that's no good, then you just walk across the road and drop the rig in tallie creek...

Pass on gold coast, had my fill of the delightful antics of schoolies already. I think Raby Bay is top of list so far, as I want a lure caught jack this summer and its a lazy peddle

I don't mind driven up there. It'd be a back track for you anyway. What would the launch time 330ish?

Wheres the launch site? I had a look on google maps, looks very rocky!

I usually launch from the boat ramp at cleveland and troll along the drop off into the canals for squire then cast at pontoons and rocky edges inside.

Will be rigging up at the Cleveland ramp next to the VMR at 3.45am and fishing the far canals and Marina, if anyone else want to come out. So far its me and Keen-as-fisho.

there was a tight 3 foot chop happening even before sunrise. Fished the far canal in to the marina for an undersize bream and a couple of moses perch.

Got a bit wild on the way back, and keen-as got clouted by a good wave that soaked him :laugh:

It was hard going this morning, I am glad I took the leccy I got onto I keeper for the morning which was a pb bream on a plastic at 31cm, which took a 3inch dgrub! I also caught a small mosses perch on a deep chubby, whilst trolling.

As Tom said I got absolutly belted by two waves joining on the bow of the yak :dry: It was hard going for me but I learnt from the experience and can't wait to go further out (that was the first time I 'entered' the bay) The biggest thing I learnt, Don't get on the juice the night before and hit rough water :X

Yep, its only a 25ltr. It just looks bigger in the photo!

I often cart a similar size esky, fits in a "real yak" no worries yoyo
