shidano
just wondering if you can catch threadies on surface lures and what are the best knots to tie the leader to the surface lure
wesfish
they are known up north to hit surface lures, i would say find a shallow sandy flat on low tide and use a sub surface lure! the easiest way to connect lure to leader is a loop knot. tomca
I have seen thradies smashing prawns on the shallow mud banks around Jindalee so I think it is quite possible, but like Wes said, subsurface would be a much better presentation. When saratoga are a bit finnicky they bat surface lures around and won't hook up, but the same fish will inhale a similar size lure that is retrieved 6 inches under the water. i would imagine salmon would behave in a similar manner
