Lures for fishing

Never heard of those lures, but assuming they are run of the mill bream lures, around 40-45mm long, only weigh a few grams.

ok, if your going to use your new baitcaster with these, it will be borderline, particularly if your not experienced with baitcasters (in fact if your not, I wouldn't bother with those lures until you are). Bream lures are quite light.

Cast them at structure,(pylons, rock walls etc) aiming to get them as close as you can. Then let them sink a bit and slowly twitch them back in. Keep doing that letting them sink a bit further each time (count the seconds) for four or five casts at each bit if structure.

Dont let them sink all the way to the bottom or you might lose the lure.

Another way of fishing light lures like this if land based, is find a rock wall or similar, that you can walk along the very edge of. Cast the lure our (throw it by hand if you have to!) then slowly walk along the wall holding the rod tip as far out as you can pulling the lure along. Give it a few twiches and pauses as you go, but once again dont let it sink to the bottom ot you will lose the lure!

Next lot of lures go for something around the 50 to 60mm mark, floating. They will be easier to cast with your baitcaster, and if you pause of make a mess of it, the lure will just float to the top. I'd suggest raiding your local Big W, look at the Berkley hard body lures (only the ones with bibs, those with no bibs sink!) They go for about $3.50 each and catch fish!
