queensland wave break island southport seaway Feb 5 - 7

planning another big trip for the AFO wanderers in 1 of the first weekends in febuary with good weather camping on wave break island right in front of the seaway. will traget the seaway for arvo fishing and hiting the reef just outside in the mornings its a good spot for any size boat and these trips are always a blast. theres a good beach along the northern side with camp sites most of the way down there are no facilities but most of us going have lots of camping gear. if anyone is keen and has a boat you can post deckie spots here if you have room this is open for any afo members who love camping on the beach

Great idea mark, will be up for that, will you have a deckie spot for outside and ill take my tinny with a shagged engine for the seaway.

you sure can bri will probably have 1 or 2 others for outside but they are early morning sesions anyway and i normally go deckie in my own boat rigging and baiting up till every one has at least caught 1 each

iam keen mate will take the big boat down and have a spot or two in mine,and trav or kev if your in and dont have a boat you can take the tinnie cant wait for this one.brad

Oiiiiiii !! here we go again ey lads, gotta love these trips ay, hurry up feb. goin to sommerset weekend of the 22/23 01, if any 1 else is up for it, so a mate patty is goin, usin this to run his freshly rebuilt 150 inn. and to have a good feed of redclaw, straddie is crusin up with wife lesley entail, so partners are welcome. trav is trav and god knows where he'll end up? :laugh: if he hasn't shot himself by then, i'm guessin his deckie kelly will be crusin up too. lookin like another good trip forming.

yeah, i'm lookin at spend a good part of the night out wide on the reefs, and chasin the mackrel around. or the mackrel givin me the run around. :laugh:friday morning arrival there for me too. I'M EXCITED!

got some good jew fish in the seaway on these trips in the arvo just on sunset then its drinks and dinner back at camp for me before hitting the reef in the mornings

after 6 months of putt putt i'm starting to get bored ,as other have said ,we knew this would happen .

where is the boat ramp at ?

is it the one on marine parade.

looks like about 500 meters from there to wavebreak island .

i want to bring the putt putt.

should be ok for fishing around the island and dropping pots .

i've never had a problem but it is a public ramp the other ramps are in southport which i have heard problems from with the spit ramp its well lit and to far for the drunks to stagger to

yeah mate foreshore shes a butey got some crackin fish in her since shes been up here

was looking at heading down to the ramp early friday the 5th feb to get a good camp on the island unless we have really bad weather. i will bring some fire wood a tarp and bbq with gas light a table and have a spare 2 man tent
