well a little change of plans for me .

looks like a mate is coming with.

so we will be there Saturday and Sunday.

tugger u still got the spare 2 man dome tent ?

if i end up going out with one of u guys to chase mac's or on reefs.

if on the odd change i wake up early.

what types of rods do i need ?

weight ,length, reel size ,line ,lures ?

i want to travel light so don't want to take unnecessary stuff .

i have a habit of taking every rod/gear/reed i own if i can.

i got these metal lures ,they ok ?

wonder if i will chuck ,haven't been offshore /in a swell for 15 years.

the trebles i got are ,eagle claw ,size 2 ,4,6,8.

from big w .they looked better than the ones on the cheap o lures i got .

how do u attach a treble without a split ring ?

clip or wire crimp sort of thing ?

them steel lure i got .

i found 2 on the bank and the middle 1 is rhys, its out of the surecatch pack trav gave the kids.

rods

i got a overhead its

crane sports ,5'8 foot ,15 to 25 kg .it cam with a matched overhead reel.

or

surecatch, 6 foot ,8 to 12 kg rod

or

shimano lipstix ,7'6 foot ,6 to 8 kg

i got a rovex spin 4500 or Shakespeare catera 6000 (its rhys from brad ) overhead.

don't know anything about off shore or chasing mac's .

never did it with dad when i was young fella .

only did spanner crabs and some fishing with the big winches ,the type u mount on the side of the boat.

and that was over 16 years ago .

if it's not going to be to wet and cyclonic i'll still go ,the wind so far is easing over the next couple of days and we'll be on the northern beach with se winds predicted. outside is unlikely but the seaway is good this weekend with small tides = less run and lighter sinkers. i've got 2 tarps and plenty of poles and ropes , table , gas light and bbq. don't forget the aerogaurd and a chair and if you need a pick up at the ramp ring me 15 minutes out

yeah the weather is bad now .

but as long as its not pissing down and blowing a Gail .

i will still go .

worse case if its still choppy ,mite some1 to transport the esky ,bed ,dry cloths over for me .

if not a garbage bag keeps stuff dry .

more worries about the beer getting shook up ,maybe my decky too.

see how it is Saturday morning .

so it there anything needed ?

i got folding tables ,3 burner cooker or 2 burner and oven ,gas bottles, companion gas light and bottle (no extension pole ).

generator (if u have the fuel)or for lighting a n70zz battery ,inverter and 3 x lights and leads,u can hand them from the tarps.

trust me the lights run off the inverter and battery is a good thing ,i haven't used gas light since i got them .

if any of u guys think we need this let me know .

i will being it down or get it to u .

brad ,rob or mark .

i was talking with dad today and he reckons if the depression in the middle of aus heads to the coast or doesn't go that the end of outside .

but the sea way still a option to fish ,i said i get me eye on the rocks walls ,brim i reckon ,sandbars for flatty .

was talking rods and i only got 1 stick ok for trolling ,but nothing up to the job of casting slugs and retrieving mac's.

my bigger and longer rods are only 8 foot 4 to 6 kg and 7"6 foot 6 to 8 kg ,only other long rods i have are surf ,which are to light as well .

but look at the weather i don't have to worry about that .

worst case weather ,as long as tugger is still there .

i will go ,just hit some1 up for a lift ,if its to bad for the tinny.

the only thing that is heavy is me and the esky :) lol

the decky weights all of 60 kg prob lighter than the esky of beer .hahaha

will work it all out by Thursday and let u know for sure .

reckon i should bring any of the extra gear i listed ?

for every1 to use sort of thing .

we took gear to the pin trip ,never even made it out of the boat .

everything was all ready there .

maybe a table ,tables never go astray ,need something to play cards on when it rains .
