brad and i just got back

not worth it mark, gunna be a slop in da mornin, the slop has been there all week from last weeks storm and water is dirty as, if ya do go start at the gravel patch as the water is clearer there, it was real dirty out from the seaway, and i imagine it will be the same from tally, we weren't prepared to sit in the slop once the tide changed, it was like the bay on a bad day with 1.5 swell under the wind blown crap on top, which was a constant 18 kts and gusting above that. and white caps bloody everywhere, good luck if ya go. even the coast guard thought we were a lil crazy if we were to spend the night down there? so 1 last look and decided not to be belted from pillar to post, and even the lads in the coast guard looked pleased we were heading in beside them, a wave and we were off lookin for the car and trailer.

got to the ramp at 4am and met brithepom with his tinnie ready he followed us out the bar , i jumped it very early without much light conditions were good but i think brian got a bit nervous in the smaller tinnie. we got to the palmy and i was able to get onto my spot but when the sun came up the water looked very dirty after the rains they had on the coast. we didn't stay long and decided to head out to the gravel patch and had another mate in his boat follow me out brian had to stay on the palmy without an epirb so we wished him luck. got to the patch with about 30 to 40 boats on it but this is a big reef and my spots were about 1km away from the other boats so we anchored. set our baits and started jigging for livies we had 1 small pike from the palmy so he went out straight away. the pike got hammered after about 2 minutes in the water and on my light gear this would be fun and after 5 minutes up came a little spanish mack. the berley started to bring on the spottie macks and we boated and lost a few in the next hour and my mate next to us was do about the same. a few of the other boats saw our action and decided to come over closer to us but a safe distance except for a big game boat that nearly trolled over our lines mmmmm. another bait went off after burleying hard and my son was next and after a good fight on another light rod about 10minutes up comes a spanish that topped mine. all up we got 4 spotties and 2 spanish and got back to the ramp by 930am and was home by 11am it was a great morning with no wind and small swell. all the fish were caught on the spinning reels with 9kilo line and my sons spanish went 1.1m long and went 10kilo
