Camping Byron Bay

I've been thinking about camping at clarkes beach campground at byron bay, but now they say minimum 3 nights during off peak... don't understand what's up with them.

Is there a recommendable campground around BB area?

There's a decent park at Lake Ainsworth, Lennox Head (20min south of BB).

Lake Ainsworth is great! But if you wanna stay closer to byron there's a swag of campgrounds in and around. I've stayed in 4 different ones but can hardly remember the names of any Stayed at belongil campground for splendour in the grass. There's one right on the beach that has tent sites and cabins and there's a few on the way into town. Just google camping in byron and it'll come up with a map

This is probably the clarkes beach campground. A friend of mine strongly recommneded the place, sounds great and all, but simply don't want to spend three nights...

Mate clarkes beach is great but ive been camping at the broken head camping grounds just outside byron but still right on the water for years now and it is just perfect!! Give it a look..www.brokenhd.com.au

No one is forcing you to stay there for the 3 nights, just pay for the 3 and stay there 1 or 2 ;-)

Nah seriously, I stayed recently at Lake Ainsworth campground and was great, then on way back stayed at one in Byron on the left as you approached town. Its entrance was about 100m down the road on the right and it was a dump!
