so i hear crab dillies are now banned, what else is good to use for sandies. How good are mud crab pots to use? and where in the bay are people catching them. I thought i would ask as i have decided to have a break from catching the muddies as i have been catching a few and i have been fishing the bay and thought i might give sandies a go.

cheers guys

Mate, the only place i've seen big sandies has been in the stretch of water in the broadwater ranging from Loders Creek through to the Big bridge. I've taken them on baits meant for bream and they're big bastards. As for the dillies and pots i wouldn't know mate

u will catch sand crabs in collapsible pots .

old man and myself haven't use dillie nets for 10 year or more .

i haven't crabbed in the bay much in the last 12 years ,but horseshoe bay (peel island )

big sand hills (Morton island ),Jacobs well ,across from the boat ramp .

these are all areas i have got sand crabs .
