Hi ppl,

does anyone know how to get here ? I have been riding my bike out to nudgee, shorncliffe and have noticed ppl in cars around this area. I had a bit of a look around but cannot seem to find the way in there!

It looks like a pretty good area to go fishing wit my son, but be buggered if I can find a way in! fishingspot_3.jpg

3 things haha

1. dont go there if you like your car

2. dont go if it has rained within a week

3. dont go if you cant stand swarms of mossies haha.

I used to ride down before they did all the work on the highway and whatever that stuff across from toombul is. i bush bashed it by walking my bike through long grass on the weekend too have a look but the track is absolutely shocking down to the end at the moment, mud holes and metre high over grown grass.

Goodluck and i hope you get a few.

hey Keechie, cheers for that.... I have only seen if from the northern side... .as I ride the Kedron Brook bikepath.... although have seen a commodore wagon in the vicinity of the Eastern arrow i placed...

I would not go down that way if it was damp though.... only have a 'softroader' ;) But at this stage I can't even find a way to get down there in the car...... I think the vehicles I have seen that way must have gotten access through the construction sites.....

Have you actually fished that area? always seems full of bait when i ride past.....

Have fished it before and gotten a few small bullies around 1-1.3m and soem massive pike eels and stingrays. Best catch from there is a 69cm flatty but i could only really put it down to the amount of bait that hangs around that area.

I have noticed the plethora of bait jumping about whenever I ride past.... normally around 6:30am'ish...

Never caught a bullshark or pike eel.... Then again have not managed to get anywhere near as much fishing done as i have wanted to!

Hi mate, i agree with Keechie on the fish. THere are monsterous eels in here. I have caught a few bream, and flatty. There is also bucket load of mud crabs. Longest i have stayed here while fishing is 1 hour.

No matter what top branded mozzie repelent you have on, they still eat you up. Nothin worse than swarms of mozzies killin you while fishin. ... too many mozzie bites can lead to ross river? Not worth it.. If you try in winter, the mozzie population should decrease substantially.

worth throwing in a few crab pots. Have seen a thready come up to the surface looking for baitfish 3 years back.

How i get there? i go onto the nudgee road bridge and pull over on the side of the road (city outbound). You can actually park your car on a small grass area parallel to the bridge. Short 50m walk along a track and you are there. There is also a huge drain near the carpark that you have to watch out for.

Here is a better shot of the area i was talking about... you can see a small track where the white car is parked. follow the small track you can see and then you see a circle. That is the drain. Dont fall in! :woohoo:

then you follow the track under the gateway and fish your life away!

Mate search the reports section of the forum for "Shultz" "Schultz" or "Schulz" Canal reports sorry for all the options but its one of the most mid spelt places on the site hahahaha.

You will surprised what has been caught there and in good numbers.

Flatties. Cod. Jacks. Jew. Bream. Sharks. And yes... Catfish.
