Lure retriever's Landbased?

well i gess it all depends on how far out you are going to get snagged up. if it is les that 10feet then you can buy these long poles that go down your line. they seen to work well.

but if you get snagged out further it is always a good idea to have some sort of Yak or something to row out and use a normal retriever. My retriever is called a tackelback and all i can say is i havent lost any lures since i bought it.

defs worth the $30 i payed for it. dont know how it would go from the bank,

I use a cheap $10 one I grabbed from BCF a long long time ago. Not sure of the brand but it's just a wedge of lead with a small wire coil to thread the line through , I've attached it to around forty ft of hoochie cord. I carry it in my backpack whenever I fish bankside. That little blob of lead and wire has probably saved me a grand in lures. You usually have to have a pretty sharp angle on the line for these types of retrievers to work but I reckon it's always worth giving it a go to save a lure.

I saved two lures yesterday with it !!! $30 worth back in my tacklebox

If worse comes to worse and if the weathers OK I sometimes swim out over the lure, but I probably wouldn't recommend this method as only crazy knucklehead bass fisho's would risk life and limb, not to mention the threat of being touched by a big slimey freshwater eel to save a lure. ;)

haven't got 1 yet .

i was looking at 1 the other day ,sounds the same as l g m was talking about .

was at wayne's world shop ,think it was 10 or 20 $.

i should get 1 ,but i seam to lose 1/2 of my lures up in trees .

some wild casting style i have.lol

i climbed the trees ,fell in the water ,broken the branches off and fell in the water ,most of the time i lose the lure and end up in the water .

i need a anti gravity tackle back .lol

Mate, one of these things woulod be worth it's weight in gold to me. I must admit but, I have also lost a few lures to the wily and deceitful tree branch....

If I'd known about the fact that they could be used landbased, i'd have saved THOUSANDS of dollars on switchblades and hard bodies
