a few tagging reports

Recommended Posts

did a few sessions earlier in the week,

first session tagged a little 60cm threadie from the shallows, he was a feisty bugger jumped 3x but didnt take much drag, just kept going back and forth jumping hehe

also hooked a larger model which fought unlike most threadies i've caught, instantly ran at full speed toward a pilon instead of the lag period of heavy weight and little movement that i'm used to. thats it for day 1

2nd session hit some snappers up,

only tagged 1 snapper and 1 jew as we kept a few for dinner. Kev managed 1 class snappa at 57cm, and a 64 jew. I managed two 40 snaps 2 45ish flatties and a smaller squire, also pulled hooks on a decent thready (only just switched from a size 1 treble on the front to a size 6 fore and aft to get the snap hits i was missing

good to see plenty of tagging done dan this information will be valuable to understand these river fish in the future and ultamately the sustainability of this fishery. looks like your lures you make are nailing them you may even get me changing my fishing habits from bait fishing as you know what i'm like . lol

awsome stuff as usual wes

oi ya cheeky bugger! ahahah

jeremy in some well lit light pools im sure there is some effect but in the dark down deep etc the fish rely on their other senses more than sight and as u can see we werent scared to use horrible colour jobbys like the vomitthroater :cheer:

good stuff steve im glad they worked out for ya, what hooks were you running the owner 6x again? i had some luck with a flat pronged/ T shaped decoy, funny looking hook but it went alright hookup wise before i lost it to the rock monster.

cheers

Dan
