queensland first jew on an sp

the inlaws are staying in a unit at golden beach, which has it's own pontoon. so headed over there last night for a flick and to float some livies.

first cast of the net and got enough herring to last a week :laugh:

so out with the liveies and on with a jerkshad nuclear chicken.

first cast and whack, i was on to a solid fish that wasn't happy. after a couple of good runs it was over and i had netted my first school jew which measured 65cm, and even better it was caught on a sp :woohoo:

as for the livies, we had a few good runs but nothing landed.

nice jewie ferg, they would have to be my 2nd favourite fish. great fight beautiful fish and not afraid to belt a lure

brad they love live bait and dont mind a bit of dead bait either, i caught a cracker in the river on a big dead pike in late 2008 i think. they will take all sorts of lures too have been getting plenty on the soft vibes

Seems weird that you can catch a 65cm model like that and it's still not legal to keep

These days you really need to catch a rippa to get a keeper.

Oh well, hopefully that means we will just see more and more big ones around.

pinkey as soon as the plastic hit the water it smashed it.

travis your probably rite, the father inlaw floated a dead pillie the next day and landed himself a lizard over a meter long. trying to get a pic of it to put on here.
