queensland PB bream - Maroochy River

Apart from the measurements (40cm) on the ruler this photo doesn't really do it justice, it was massive!

Caught using a small pilchard (labeled as sardine in BCF) about 5cm long. They worked great for estuary cod too. Total catch for the day 5 cod and 3 bream.

It was a much better result than the squidding expedition last night after getting excited reading all the posts on AFO. Didn't manage to catch a thing with 3 people using 3 different jigs (colour and size slightly different) for 3 hours.

40cm Bream is a solid effort, nice one.

How big was the biggest cod you got?

The cod in the photo was the biggest one, around 50cm. They were all between 30 - 50cm. Managed to find a bit of a hole that was just full of them.

They are hard to get a good photo of to show their size unless you use the long arm technique that has become so common nowadays. Still, on the ruler shows the length, and a 40 is a great fish.

Not sure about that because I don't know where the cod hole you refer to is. We were landbased fishing though off Oyster Bank Road.
