Wellington point Jetty - 1/5/10

Afternoon all,

The missus and I fished the Wellington Point jetty from 6am thru till midday. Tide was just starting to rise as we got there and in a familiar way, after establishing a burley trail, the fish came on. I had just brought a Ecogear SX40 in gold, and by the end of the day it looked like the gates of hell ate it, chewed it and spat it out. Rear 'treble'is now a double and the paint looks worse than an early 90s magna.

The culprit?

...

HUGE Pike.

The biggest would of gone nearly 50cm and tailwalked it's way to the jetty. A few bream on baits with the biggest probably going 25-30cm taken early morning. All went well, till a bunch of joint smoking wanker kids turned up and proceeded to bombdive off the jetty and swear and talk crap about parties and sluts. Yeah, great you tools, especially for the bloke and his two kids under 6 fishing 2 feet from ya.

Apart from that, beautiful morning and a ball of fun

The only pike I caught there today was right near the jetty, was thick with them. Out 20m further was only snapper and sweetlip :cheer:

the sx40 should go straight to the cabinet in the pool room for all your friend to admire your piscitorial excellence
