headed down to reddy bay friday after noon with pat for the weekend. went out saturday to one of my grandads spots over on garden and started throwing out sp and some fresh prawns. got a lot of under size squire and bream and alot of pike. we decided to put a couple of live pike out for sharks bait and pat got a decent run but then just stoped and never got another one for the day. more lure casting and pat came up with a 43cm flatty and more pike still, i decided im sick of catchin all these pike on small lures so i put on a blue bozo lure to see if somthing bigger would take it and first cast just wineded it in slowly and as i was winding a a big manta ray swam past on the surface so i stoped and had a look at that and once it went under i did one more wind then bang of it goes drag singing away and a nice bend in my 2-5kg bc raider. bit of swearing becuase i thouhgt i had the manta ray but after it came to the surface dad was like its a cod so the net come out really quick and in comes the cod. my heart was beating a thousand miles and hour i was so happy that it was my first cod on a sp :cheer: . we started to do a bit of trolling because it started to slow down a bit so we tolled over thissand bank with a gold bomber deep diver and not long after we started to trolling pats lure went to the surface so i wound it in and it was this flounder which i thought was really funny. that night we went down to the boat ramp with our nest and started casting and first couple of cast we had about 2L of prawns and we did that for bout 2 hours. the next couple of day we didnt really get much legal fish but every night we got heaps of prawns and over the weekend we would of ended up with about 25-35L of prawns and pat a got a 21cm prawn it was huge :P
