cast net lead weights

Hi guys n gals. I'm in need of some extra weight on one of my cast nets. I need about an extra kg of the lead that crimps onto the rope at the bottom of the net. Happy to buy them but havn't seen them in the shops. Or if someone has a lead mold i could borrow that would be even better. Any help appreciated

Humm just thinking outside the square.what about a length of light guage galvinised chain the length of the cercumference of the net. bunnings sells chain not sure if its gal might be zinc.Just a thought check it out might be cheap and simple to do.

Failing anything else mentioned.

Buy some no 3 bean sinkers, place them in a vice, cut with hacksaw until you reach the hole in the middle, spread with screwdriver, place rope through opened up cut, hammer it closed again. Here is what it will look like in the end. I use this on one of my mackeral rigs. Works a treat to get some weight on the pillie while trolling it.

Mate head down to the water towers bait n tackle, they sell net wieghts down there..

u must be able to buy crimp weights some where ,cause dad has them for the ropes on his crab pots.next time i talk to him i'll ask where he got them from.
