Hey mate,

I used to target Yellow Eye Mullet on the fly back home when I was younger, and it's actually a pretty good technique, considering a big mullet could tow most things that swim backwards.

I used flies tied on extra strong snelled luderick hooks, although I'd say it would be hard finding a set of those up here. The extra strength was a godsend when the breambos got in on the act. Fish Head at Cleveland or The Tackle Warehouse sell a range of fly tying equipment.

Try chenelle, or white treated egg yarn for a floater. Spotlight sells a lead wire cored white looking material that kids use to make spioder legs and things with, sorry but I couldn't tell ya what it's called. It's great for an 'intermediate' fly, floats for a while then slowly descends just like bread.

Keep a sharp eye though mate, the mullet I used to target would often take a fly so subtly that you need eyes like a hawk to spot it if the fly was sinking.

Hope that helps
