Launched at 3am and headed between Soverign and Ephraem Islands. Heaps of baitfish getting smashed all around me constantly and some reasonable sized fish boiling the water in schools! Cool, time for some popper action. Tried 5 different sized poppers, a xrap 90 walk the dog lure, some live poddies and strips of mullet, Nothing! Couldnt even get a hit with anything even when casting right in the middle of the action.

Absolutely freezing and a bit of a breeze and couldnt wait for the sun to come up. Decided to stick it out till the sun rose and see if I could get some interest once the fish could see my lures but soon as the sun rose the fish dissappeared.

Circled Ephraem Island using some sp's and poppers and picked up some small flatties then headed for the sand bank in front of the park where I managed 2 good flatties on the xrap both around 55cm mark. Wind was there but not to the degree of being uncomfortable and was glad to catch some fish on the new lure.

I couldnt get a decent walk the dog action with the xrap but for flatties it's near perfect. Fishing in 2-3 ft of water it puffs up a bit of sand and looks the goods, heaps of smaller whiting and bream followed it and one huge flattie followed right up to the bank, saw me and turned tail.

I can get the bubble pop 65's walking the dog no problems so I'll have to practise with this xrap.
