queensland brisbane river session

went for a fish last night at our favourite spot in the brisbane river (bulimba creek). landed a nice 45cm tailor

a 31cm brim, a 28cm brim, 29cm whiting and a 37cm flathead. We were using live herring and large bay prawns i caught a couple of weeks ago at vicky point. Had a fair few good runs also throughout the night.

yeah its a good spot. but you can sit there for days in a row and not catch a thing. Its a very picky spot, got to watch out for snags too. the fish seem to know where they are too.

can anyone suggest any other good spots in the bay to get tailor?

I always see them busting up on the flats around mud island. Also managed to get a few good ones while surface fishing for bream in the same area

Mmmmmmmmmmm fresh Tailor is great. Catch, bleed and gill then onto the pan. Hard to beat.

myself and another suspect just got back from an arvo session where we landed some very nice flathead to 70cm, 5 in total before we decided to just come home and try again another day. might be out there again tmz too, hahaha aye brad? you keen. hahahah

Land based I used to catch a few at Cleveland, you drive past the railway, past 2 roundabouts then turn left and you end up at a park, just behind the car park and down about 30 meters is where I used to catch them on high tide in the evening.

Only choppers though, but maybe there are bigger one around atm.

my mate managed a 40cm model on saturday morning and i had it for lunch today! was beautifulllll.....cooked whole soaked in coconut cream!
